Hey there! My name is Lakan, the face behind The Shaggy Spur.

Here's a little bit about who you are shopping with! I grew up in rural Oklahoma, studied Animal Science & Agricultural Education at Oklahoma State, and married my best friend, Kyler, right after college. We landed in the River Valley of Arkansas, where I spent five years teaching agriculture. While in Arkansas, we became foster parents… then adoptive parents… and our family grew from there. 

The only thing I ever wanted to do more than teach ag, was raise kids and cattle. Two years ago we moved back to Oklahoma, the move gave us the opportunity to raise our kids with the rural lifestyle we grew up with and build our own cattle herd. THE DREAM!

For years, my mom, sisters, and I have always tossed around the idea of one day opening up a boutique. What started with a spontaneous purchase of a heat press, has quickly turned into the formation of The Shaggy Spur. My focus here is to bring you western-inspired apparel at an affordable cost. I do most of the tee-pressing, purchasing, and daily behind the scenes work, but don’t let that fool you... This little business is a family affair. My entire family is a built-in sounding board, volunteer set-up and tear-down crew, and frequent errand runners.

This business gives me the opportunity to be at every appointment, assembly, or field-trip for our four kids while managing our cattle herd in the middle of it all.
